Comments: Just read the awesome piece about Baginton. Had me in tears. I started 'spotting' at Elmdon in 1967 and visited Coventry that year, so Constellations and G-APEZ are fixed, seared upon my cerebral cortex.. Sadly the only camera my brother and I possessed was a Brownie Box. The props of this era are still as fresh in my mind today as they were then. From G-AIVF Invicta Viking and EI-APC B170 Aer Turas struggling to get off the short runway at Elmdon; parting the wheat in it's wake as it flew at what seemed like 20ft in the direction of Coventry over the fields...I still have a framed b/w picture of me in my gaberdene school mac at the tender age of 12 standing under G-ANTF at Baginton. Ye Gods the tales I could tell of my adventures with props and airfields from the days before 'the security paranoia'..

Comments: Always a thrill when the latest PL comes through the letter box. My latest project is a history of Cardiff airport at Rhoose - any memories, photos will be gratefully received, particularly photos of the 1962 French rugby airlift and the Air Laos Stratoliner and DC-4. Geoff Jones
